About the Wolverhampton 11 Plus

Wolverhampton has one state grammar school — Wolverhampton Girls' High School — which admits girls to Year 7 on the West Midlands Grammar Schools Entrance Test, set by GL Assessment through the SWW consortium. The test is two age-standardised multiple-choice papers covering English, maths, verbal reasoning and non-verbal reasoning.

As there is no state boys' grammar in Wolverhampton, boys generally sit the same partnership test and apply to Queen Mary's Grammar in neighbouring Walsall (or other partnership schools). The test is sat in September at the start of Year 6.
